New York Giants reflect on encounter with Flight 93 passengers on 9/11

On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, New York Giants players and staff are sharing recollections of crossing paths with passengers of United Flight 93. The team encountered the travelers at Newark Airport on the morning of September 11, 2001, shortly after returning from a game against the Denver Broncos. Hall of Fame defensive end Michael Strahan described the memory as a profound and shaking experience. The team arrived home safely before the full scale of the terrorist attacks became clear to the general public. In commemoration of the 25th anniversary, the NFL is incorporating tributes into all Week 1 games to honor the victims and first responders. Commissioner Roger Goodell noted that the league remains committed to recognizing the spirit of resilience and community that emerged following the tragedy.
