New York Jets begin roster adjustments for 2026 practice squad

The New York Jets are filling their 2026 practice squad following the mandated league-wide roster cutdown. Head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey are expected to begin processing waivers on Monday, August 31, at 1 p.m. to set the 16-player unit, plus one additional spot for the International Player Program alumni. The front office maintains high waiver priority, currently sitting second behind the Las Vegas Raiders. Players assigned to the practice squad are eligible for two game-day elevations per week under current league rules. Each individual is restricted to a maximum of three total elevations before the team must sign them to the active roster to remain eligible for game participation. The team continues to monitor potential roster moves as they build the final composition of the squad.
