New York Jets claim linebacker Trevin Wallace off waivers from Carolina Panthers

The New York Jets claimed inside linebacker Trevin Wallace off waivers on Monday. The move comes one day after the Carolina Panthers released the 23-year-old defender during their final roster cutdown to 53 players. Wallace was selected by Carolina in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft and started in 20 of his 25 career games with the team. During his tenure with the Panthers, he tallied 125 combined tackles, 3.0 sacks, four passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. The Panthers roster decision followed a competition for a starting role between Wallace and Claudin Cherelus, which ultimately led the team to sign free agent Bobby Okereke instead. Wallace now joins the New York Jets defensive unit.
