Newark introduces 15K race to complement Cherry Blossom 10K events

Newark will host the inaugural Branch Brook 15K on October 4, adding to its event calendar that includes the longstanding Cherry Blossom 10K. The 9.3-mile course will take advantage of the fall foliage in Branch Brook Park, a favored running locale. Organized by Trials of Miles, the event has a registration cap of 2,500 runners at a $75 fee, with 90% of current registrants from New Jersey. Local sponsors include Fleet Feet Montclair and New Jersey Institute of Technology. Dave Alfano stated that the race aims to showcase the park and its capacity to support large running events.
