Newcastle United approaches £30m deal for Braga goalkeeper Horníček

Summary

Newcastle United is close to finalizing a £30 million transfer for Braga goalkeeper Lukáš Horníček. With personal terms likely to be agreeable, Newcastle is addressing goalkeeper competition with Horníček, who had a strong season at Braga, making 33 league appearances. The club sees Horníček's profile as fitting for their needs, particularly given Nick Pope's injury history. Newcastle aims to bolster their squad ahead of the new season and believes Horníček's potential could pay off in the long run.
