Newcastle United commenced their 2026-27 pre-season with a 3-0 win against Darlington in a behind-closed-doors friendly at their KNOX training ground. Goals from Joe Willock, William Osula, and Sean Neave marked the team's successful return to action. Willock's opener came in the 29th minute, followed by Osula’s penalty six minutes later.
