Newcastle United sets new attendance records at St James’ Park

Newcastle United announced an increase in St James’ Park's capacity, officially expanding it by approximately 500 seats. This change enabled a record attendance of 52,647 during the match against Hull City on September 21, 2026. Prior to this, Newcastle had already broken its Premier League era attendance record twice, first with 52,630 against Liverpool and then 52,643 against Bournemouth. Enhancements to stadium facilities included a £10 million investment in hospitality and a complete pitch replacement worth £3.6 million. As part of the upgrades, new safe standing areas were introduced, alongside improvements to connectivity and replay visibility for fans.
