Newcastle's Woltemade not leaving on loan amid false reports
Summary

Speculation regarding Nick Woltemade’s potential loan from Newcastle United was dismissed on July 27, 2026. Reports falsely attributed to The Athletic claimed that the German international had been granted permission to leave the club. Seb Stafford-Bloor of The Athletic clarified on X that Woltemade is joining Newcastle's pre-season activities. The rumors stemmed from an impersonation of a journalist on social media.
