Newport County to host Roma in pre-season friendly on August 4

Newport County will play a pre-season match against Serie A side Roma on August 4 at Rodney Parade. The friendly is part of Roma's training camp in Wales, which includes a match against Cardiff City on August 1. Newport County begins their competitive season with an EFL Cup match against AFC Wimbledon on August 8, followed by their League Two opener against Rochdale on August 15. Chris Todd, the caretaker manager, took over after Christian Fuchs's departure last month.
