NFL teams prepare for opening week of the 2026 season

The 2026 NFL season officially begins with a slate of matchups starting September 9. The Patriots travel to face the Seahawks, serving as a rematch of the most recent Super Bowl. International play continues with the 49ers and Rams scheduled for a contest in East Melbourne, Australia, on September 10. Sunday’s early window features divisional and conference matchups, including Bears against Panthers and Buccaneers at Bengals. The Bills and Texans face off in a marquee game with significant early-season implications. Teams enter these contests following offseason roster changes, coaching adjustments, and varying expectations for the division titles and playoff contention.
