Nic Nemeth discusses backstage dynamics at TNA ahead of Slammiversary

TNA is the hot topic in wrestling news this week following the releases of Tessa Blanchard, Tommy Dreamer, and Sami Callihan. Earlier today, TNA star Nic Nemeth commented on the chaotic situation as part of his gig on Busted Open Radio. Nemeth praised Dreamer but was careful not to throw TNA management under the bus, as he claimed to not know much about why these decisions were made. “I don’t know what the situation is…I think morale, building together to get that TV deal, couldn’t be any higher. And then as we move on, it’s gotta drop down just a little bit. And then it’s like, oh man, some people are leaving, what are we doing? I don’t know exactly what’s going on.” The former Dolph Ziggler admitted that things have been strange behind the scenes in TNA recently, but said he doesn’t really know why. “I’m gonna get the scoop on what’s happening now in two weeks at [the TNA Slammiversary PPV]. But most importantly, I really think the locker room is such a huge aspect. It’s what got me to sign on to TNA. And I thought we were in a really good place, but I think the last couple of months, it’s been a little weird backstage. It’s been different. And I don’t exactly know why, and I can’t put my finger on it. Nemeth continued to talk about TNA’s locker room morale. “I don’t know, man. The locker room, for the most part, is not at the highest it’s ever been, but it’s a pretty tight locker room.” Nic didn’t reference any wrestling wars, and instead said it’s a normal part of the wrestling business for people to come and go as contracts come up. He said he “won’t pretend” there isn’t an issue behind the scenes that explains why Dreamer is gone, but he’s confident that TNA will bring in new people who will deliver, and there may even be a few surprises happening at Slammiversary.
