Nick Aldis' future remains uncertain following SummerSlam performance

Lead Rumor: Nick Aldis’ wrestling future Nick Aldis was worried about letting people down in his return match at SummerSlam. Those fears were entirely unfounded. In fact, he impressed so much that there are apparently plans for more. Like maybe a legitimate run. That’s the word from WrestleVotes, at least, who say the belief is he will be wrestling again but it won’t happen until 2027. However, there are plenty backstage who think so highly of him that they believe he should get a “significant in-ring run.” Hell, they think he’s even better than “several of WWE’s regular television performers.” Meanwhile, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes the creative plan was always for just the one match at SummerSlam and there are no plans for him wrestling beyond that. It could change but there are no serious plans for him wrestling again, hence his being back in the role as SmackDown General Manager. Other rumors floating around A fun backstage story from Bully Ray on Busted Open: Apparently he was in Brock Lesnar’s locker room after his match with Oba Femi at SummerSlam and Femi personally came to the locker room to privately express gratitude to Lesnar for passing the torch to him. False Finish claims Charlotte Flair personally requested to have Tatum Paxley join her and Alexa Bliss on the main roster on SmackDown. According to WrestleVotes, it’s still unclear what Enzo Amore’s status with WWE is at this time. There was interest in both of them, at least initially, but it’s unclear if Amore is still on WWE’s radar now that Big Cass has debuted as a solo act. Fightful Select indicates TNA is “planning to bring in more women’s talent” due to recent departures in that division, from Mara Sade to Jody Threat. Zilla Fatu has departed House of Glory, leading to speculation he’s coming into WWE sooner rather than later. Get in on this, y’all.
