Nick Bosa plays in 49ers season opener against Rams

San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris confirmed defensive end Nick Bosa will participate in the team's season opener against the Rams. Bosa, 28, has spent the recovery process managing a surgically repaired right knee following an ACL tear sustained during a game against the Cardinals on September 21 of last year. Although Bosa experienced complications with soreness and tendinitis earlier this summer, he returned to practice on September 2. Bosa has been limited to 17 games over the last two seasons, recording 11 sacks during that stretch. He enters the matchup after making a trip to Australia as part of his preparation. The 49ers expect Bosa to suit up and contribute on the field despite the time required to regain full fitness.
