Nick Caserio identifies Keylan Rutledge as the best Texans offensive lineman

Houston Texans general manager Nick Caserio named rookie Keylan Rutledge the team’s top offensive lineman following the roster cutdown on Tuesday. A first-round pick out of Georgia Tech, Rutledge competed for a starting spot during training camp after shifting positions. Although he gained experience at center, the team plans to utilize him primarily at left guard during the season. Caserio cited Rutledge's ability to absorb coaching and his tendency to finish plays as key reasons for the high assessment. Rutledge is expected to play in the starting lineup alongside Evan Brown for the upcoming Week 1 matchup against the Buffalo Bills. The organization is currently evaluating how the rookie’s development impacts the overall configuration of the offensive line.
