Nick Robertson files for arbitration as only Penguin among 15 players

Nick Robertson has filed for salary arbitration, marking him as the sole Pittsburgh Penguins player to do so among 15 NHL players who met the July 5 deadline. The NHL Players' Association announced the list which includes players from multiple teams. Other Penguins players, such as Egor Chinakhov, did not choose this route and will negotiate their contracts. Robertson can continue to negotiate with the Penguins up until his arbitration hearing, which will take place between July 20 and August 1. This process is often a strategy to initiate contract discussions.
