Nico Iamaleava eyes breakout season with UCLA in 2026

Nico Iamaleava, the quarterback for UCLA Bruins, is positioned for a breakout season in 2026 after a lackluster start to his college career. Despite inconsistent performances as a redshirt sophomore, Iamaleava showed potential in 2025 and benefits from a new offensive scheme under head coach Bob Chesney. With an improved offensive line and a fresh approach from offensive coordinator Dean Kennedy, Iamaleava may be primed for success. Analyst Steve Muench noted that if Iamaleava performs well this upcoming season, he could see his draft stock significantly rise, similar to Joe Burrow's ascent before entering the NFL. The 2026 season will be crucial for Iamaleava's prospects in the NFL Draft.
