Nico Schlotterbeck returns for Dortmund and Noël Aséko Nkili debuts for Frankfurt

Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck returned to the starting lineup for the Bundesliga match against SC Paderborn 07 at Signal Iduna Park on September 12, 2026. The 26-year-old had been sidelined since suffering an ankle injury during a match for Germany on June 20th. Head coach Niko Kovač confirmed Schlotterbeck is fit for duty following a full week of team training. In other league news, midfielder Noël Aséko Nkili made his debut for Eintracht Frankfurt. The 20-year-old joined the club this summer after playing for Hannover 96 during the previous season. Aséko Nkili enters the Eintracht Frankfurt side as a defensive midfield option looking to establish a permanent role in the Bundesliga. Nnamdi Collins was also named to the Eintracht Frankfurt squad for the match against Mainz.
