Nico Williams stays with Athletic Club amid Barcelona uncertainty

Nico Williams has renewed his contract with Athletic Club until 2035, as confirmed by his agent Félix Tainta. Tainta stated that doubts over registration from Barcelona were central to the decision, as Williams could not risk an uncertain move before the World Cup. Barcelona's interest in the player dates back to the summer of 2024, but the lack of concrete assurances led to Williams choosing to remain in Bilbao. His agent also mentioned that other clubs, including Arsenal and Bayern Munich, expressed interest, though none made formal offers.
