Niko Tsakiris leads San Jose Earthquakes past San Diego FC with three points

Niko Tsakiris recorded a goal and two assists by halftime to propel the San Jose Earthquakes to a 3-2 victory over San Diego FC on Wednesday night. The win marks the first for the Earthquakes since May 23, snapping an eight-match winless streak. Tsakiris opened the scoring in the third minute and later assisted goals by Preston Judd and Ousseni Bouda to secure a 3-0 lead. Anders Dreyer scored for San Diego before the break, and Cédric Bakambu added a penalty kick in the final minutes after a red card exit for San Jose’s Max Floriani. San Diego goalkeeper CJ dos Santos was also sent off in the 81st minute. The Earthquakes look to maintain momentum when they host the Houston Dynamo on Saturday, while San Diego prepares to play the Philadelphia Union at home on Sunday.
