No. 1 Nebraska sweeps No. 2 Texas at Players Era Volleyball Showcase

No. 1 Nebraska defeated No. 2 Texas in straight sets on Sunday at the Players Era Volleyball Showcase at T-Mobile Arena. The Longhorns, now 2-2, played the match without outside hitter Abby Vander Wal, who is expected to miss the remainder of the season following a knee injury sustained against No. 18 TCU. Texas initially secured a 3-1 lead in the opening set, but a 10-0 run by the Cornhuskers shifted the momentum for the duration of the contest. Cari Spears led the Longhorns with 12 kills, while Rella Binney contributed 26 assists and eight digs. Texas prepares to host No. 20 USC at Gregory Gym on Wednesday, Sept. 2, for the Big Ten/SEC Volleyball Challenge.
