No. 13 TVCC football defeats No. 3 TJC in Athens

The No. 13 TVCC Cardinals defeated the No. 3 TJC Apaches 38-33 on Saturday night at Bruce Field in Athens, Texas. After TJC took an early 3-0 lead, the Cardinals scored 14 unanswered points to gain control. Although Khalil Ewell scored a touchdown for the Apaches in the second quarter, TVCC entered halftime with a 28-13 advantage and maintained the lead throughout the second half. TVCC moves to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play with the win. The Apaches now hold a 3-1 overall record and a 1-1 conference standing. TVCC travels to Utah to play Snow College on September 19. TJC returns home to host Cisco College on the same day in a Southwest Junior College Football Conference matchup.
