No. 15 BYU overcomes Arizona halftime deficit in Big 12 opener

No. 15 BYU defeated Arizona 28-17 in their Big 12 Conference opener on Saturday afternoon at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah. The Cougars trailed 17-14 at halftime after allowing the Wildcats significant yardage and time of possession during the first two quarters. Following the break, the BYU defense held Arizona scoreless and limited the Wildcats to 87 total yards in the second half. Quarterback Bear Bachmeier accounted for all four of the Cougars' touchdowns, passing for three scores and rushing for another. LJ Martin bolstered the BYU offense with 98 rushing yards, while Kyler Kasper caught two touchdown passes. BYU remains undefeated at 2-0 and will travel to face Colorado State next week.
