No. 25 Emporia State volleyball sweeps Newman on the road

No. 25 Emporia State defeated Newman in three straight sets during a nonconference match Tuesday night in Wichita. The Hornets finished with scores of 25-23, 25-18, and 25-21 to secure their sixth consecutive victory. Mia Frisbie led the offensive effort for Emporia State with a game-high 10 kills, while Delainee Dexter provided 19 assists. Miyu Tsurumaki contributed defensively with a team-high 15 digs in the win. The Hornets, currently holding an 8-1 record, now move on to the MIAA-GAC Crossover in Shawnee, Oklahoma. The team is scheduled to face Ouachita Baptist on Thursday, September 10, followed by a match against No. 24 Oklahoma Baptist later that same day.
