Nolan Burke signs a one-year contract extension with Reading Royals

Former San Jose Sharks prospect Nolan Burke signed a one-year contract extension with the Reading Royals of the ECHL on Thursday. Burke joined the Royals after spending time within the San Jose Sharks organization, where he played for their ECHL affiliate, the Wichita Thunder. The 23-year-old forward has logged 153 appearances in the ECHL, accumulating 28 goals and 45 assists for a total of 73 points. Before his stint with the San Jose Sharks, Burke was part of the trade that brought goaltender Yaroslav Askarov to the Bay Area from the Nashville Predators. Burke has recorded only one appearance at the American Hockey League level throughout his professional career. Given his consistent usage in the ECHL, he remains a regular presence for the Reading Royals heading into the upcoming season.
