Cameron Norrie has been eliminated from the National Bank Open after losing 6-2, 7-6 (10-8) to Arthur Fils in the last-16 round in Montreal. Despite matching Fils' power in the second set, Norrie failed to convert set points in the tie-break. Earlier, Norrie had achieved a significant victory over Alex de Minaur. In Toronto, World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka suffered a surprising defeat against Ekaterina Alexandrova, losing 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 6-4. Sabalenka, a reigning Grand Slam champion, managed to level the match after dropping the first set but could not control Alexandrova's aggressive play in the final set.
