North Carolina Tar Heels pursue four-star defensive back Joshua Vilmael

The North Carolina Tar Heels football program is focused on securing a commitment from four-star defensive back Joshua Vilmael from Texas. As summer nears, recruitment efforts intensify, and Vilmael has emerged as a priority target. Currently, North Carolina is favored to land him, with a 90 percent prediction on Rivals. Vilmael, ranked No. 183 nationally and No. 23 among defensive backs, would add to UNC's growing 2027 recruiting class, which now includes six commitments. The program is expected to continue its recruitment push with more visits scheduled in June.
