North Queensland Cowboys promote three young players to top 30 roster

The North Queensland Cowboys are restructuring their NRL squad for 2027 by promoting Mason Kira, Xavier Kerrisk, and Liam Sutton to the top 30 roster. The move follows a significant off-season cleanout where the club farewelled players including Mason Barber, John Bateman, Scott Drinkwater, Matthew Lodge, and Sam McIntyre. Additionally, Murray Taulagi and Viliami Vailea are set to leave for rugby union, while Jaxson Paulo, Wiremu Greig, and Zac Herdegen will also depart. Kerrisk and Sutton gained top-grade experience throughout the 2026 season, and Kira has solidified his position within the club's development group. The club next faces the Cronulla Sharks at Allianz Stadium this Saturday at 7:50 pm. Reuben Cotter will be available for the match after successfully downgrading a high tackle charge.
