Northeast Augusta all stars compete in Babe Ruth regional in Florida

The Northeast Augusta Rookie League Machine Pitch team begins play in the Babe Ruth Southeast Regional on July 8 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Originally expecting their season to conclude after a third-place finish in the state tournament, the team was invited to participate when another team withdrew. All 12 players, aged 7 and 8 from Cassell and Wilson elementary schools, will compete against Okeeheelee, Florida, today at 2 p.m. Pool play runs until July 10, with the top four teams advancing to elimination rounds starting July 11.
