As of the 2025-2026 school year, Northern Kentucky University (NKU) reported $389,414 in compensation to student-athletes. This places NKU fifth among six Kentucky schools participating in the NIL framework, well behind the University of Louisville, which led with $32.93 million. Western Kentucky followed with $2.475 million, while Eastern Kentucky reported $865,338. Morehead State ranked last with just $99,941. NKU recently appointed Mike Odom as its new athletic director, effective August 3.
