Notre Dame defeats Wisconsin 41-13 in season opener at Lambeau Field

Notre Dame defeated Wisconsin 41-13 in the season opener held Saturday night at Lambeau Field. After a slow start that saw the Fighting Irish gain only 135 yards in the first half, the offense produced 145 yards on its first two drives of the second half. CJ Carr finished the night 19 of 29 for 239 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Aneyas Williams added 90 yards and two scores on 20 carries. The Notre Dame defense limited the Wisconsin offense to 284 total yards and secured a 55-yard interception return touchdown by DJ McKinney. Injuries hampered the Irish defense during the second half, with safety Brauntae Johnson and defensive tackle Jason Onye sidelined for the remainder of the contest. Wisconsin managed only a pair of field goals in addition to a single touchdown pass from Colton Joseph to Malichi Coleman.
