Notre Dame players CJ Carr and Brauntae Johnson have been recognized by PFF College as two of the top college football sophomores ahead of the 2026 season. Carr, ranked No. 2, had a standout redshirt-freshman season with 2,741 passing yards and 24 touchdowns. Johnson follows closely at No. 3 after recording 48 tackles and four interceptions last season. Miami's Malachi Toney is noted as the top-ranked sophomore. The Irish will face Toney when they compete against Miami this fall.
