Notre Dame quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli mourns death of father David

Notre Dame football quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli is mourning the death of his father, David Guidugli, who died Sept. 5 at age 77. Despite the personal loss, Guidugli continued his coaching duties for the team's game against Wisconsin. Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman lauded Guidugli’s professional approach during a period of bereavement. David Guidugli, a former boxing coach and trainer, was credited by his son for shaping his development as both an athlete and a coach. The family scheduled funeral services for Sept. 10 in Newport, Kentucky. The program is also providing support to safety Adon Shuler following the recent death of his father, Don Shuler.
