Nottingham MPs support Nottingham Forest stadium expansion plans

Nottingham Forest has received formal support from three local members of Parliament for a proposed expansion of the City Ground. The project aims to increase the stadium's total capacity to approximately 52,500 seats. Nadia Whittome, Alex Norris, and Lilian Greenwood stated the redevelopment represents a historic opportunity to strengthen the local economy and preserve the club's heritage. The proposal follows six consecutive seasons of sold-out matches at the current 30,000-capacity venue. While plans were submitted in January, a review date by the Rushcliffe Borough Council planning committee remains to be scheduled. The club and council continue to coordinate the timeline for an extraordinary committee meeting to deliberate on the expansion designs.
