He aims to maintain this streak following his unexpected first-round defeat at the US Open to Mariano Navone. Djokovic previously won the singles title in Beijing during each of his six appearances from 2009 to 2015, the last of which was a victory over Rafael Nadal in the final. He also has one loss in doubles at the event, which came in 2015 when he and his brother Djordje were eliminated in the quarter-finals.
