Nubble Lighthouse Swim returns with 125 athletes to support local charities

The Nubble Lighthouse Swim, organized by the Gulf of Maine Open Water Swimming Association, returns on Saturday, August 8, featuring 125 athletes competing in a 2.5-mile course. The swim starts at Long Sands Beach and ends at Short Sands Beach, promoting marine safety and health education. Proceeds this year will benefit the Michael Phelps Foundation’s IM Program, which focuses on swim instruction and water-safety training for youth organizations, including Boys & Girls Clubs and Special Olympics. Participants will experience unique marine life along the route, which has historically raised over $300,000 for community nonprofits.
