Summary

NXT is currently navigating a transition, introducing new talent following raiding of top stars by the main roster. The women's division appears strong, while concerns grow regarding the depth of the men's side. New segments, like the Mr. NXT Pageant featuring Shiloh Hill and Tristan Angels, are set to air next week, but there is skepticism about whether these new talents can challenge established stars like Roman Reigns or Cody Rhodes. NXT is in something of a transition period right now, having introduced some new faces after the main roster raided the top stars over the past couple years. It always felt like there were top level stars to be raided, but I’m starting to wonder if that’s changing. The roster as it stands right now looks strong in the women’s division, for sure, but the men’s side doesn’t look nearly as good as it did once before. Where is the next Trick Williams, or even Carmelo Hayes? Is there an Oba Femi on the roster right now? Then, while watching this week’s episode on CW, they aired this promo for a segment coming next week featuring Shiloh Hill and Tristan Angels: The Mr. NXT Pageant takes place NEXT WEEK! 💎@shiloh_wwe | @tristanangels03 pic.twitter.com/V8UwSantOA — WWE (@WWE) June 3, 2026 Granted, NXT is where they can try things out and fully lean into goofy ideas like this. They’ve made it work in the past too, so I don’t want to pre-judge here, but this just feels like a mid-card bunch of nonsense during a time when they need to find talent who look like they could actually turn into challengers for Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes. Am I supposed to think either of these two could ever stand across from CM Punk with a microphone in hand and look like they belong? It’s a slaughter right now. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong, the segment will be a big winner, and both will go on to a bright future. I just can’t see it right now. Anyone else feeling the same?
