NY Giants add OLB Trace Ford to 53-man roster

The New York Giants signed edge defender Trace Ford to their 53-man roster on October 20, 2026. Ford, 25, originally signed with the team as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma following the 2025 NFL Draft and spent last season on the practice squad. He has been elevated to the active roster for the past two games and played significant snaps, backing up starting linebackers Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux. Ford's consistent performance during preseason earned him a roster spot. He replaces veteran Jihad Ward, who was released by the team earlier on Tuesday.
