"Defender James Sands made a spectacular goal clearance before scoring in first-half stoppage time to help New York City FC earn a 1-1 draw with the New England Revolution on Sunday. NYCFC goalkeeper Matt Freese had two saves on a penalty kick by Carles Gil in the 27th minute to keep it scoreless. It was Freese's first penalty save of the season in his fifth try and the first one Gil missed in five attempts this season.
