Oakham School names rugby pitch after Lewis Moody

Lewis Moody had a rugby pitch named in his honor at Oakham School in Rutland on June 17, 2026. This recognition coincides with his 500-mile bike ride, the Lewis Moody XV Cycle Challenge, aimed at fundraising for Motor Neurone Disease (MND) research after his own diagnosis. Moody was welcomed by pupils, staff, and supporters, raising almost £300,000 for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. The challenge commenced on June 14 and will visit five of Moody's former clubs before concluding at Twickenham. Oakham School expressed pride in honoring Moody's strong ties to their community.
