Oakland basketball releases nonconference schedule featuring eleven road games

The Oakland men’s basketball team unveiled a 12-game nonconference schedule for the upcoming season that features 11 road contests. Head coach Greg Kampe plans to open the season at Michigan on Nov. 2 and conclude the nonconference portion at Michigan State on Dec. 22. The slate includes high-profile matchups against Alabama, Purdue, Houston, and Arkansas. According to the school, the combined buy games are expected to net the program more than $900,000 to assist with financial needs related to player revenue sharing. The schedule also includes three exhibition games, beginning with a home contest against Grand Valley State on Oct. 15. The team finished with a 16-18 record last season as it prepares for the 43rd year under Kampe.
