OGC Nice nears loan agreement for Eintracht Frankfurt full-back Niels Nkounkou
Summary

OGC Nice is closing in on a deal to sign Eintracht Frankfurt defender Niels Nkounkou. The 25-year-old French full-back opted for the Ligue 1 club despite interest from Scottish side Celtic. The proposed transfer is expected to be a loan agreement that includes an option for a permanent purchase. Nkounkou returns to France following a 2025-26 season spent on loan at Torino, where he recorded one assist across 13 appearances. His arrival at OGC Nice coincides with potential personnel changes on the squad's flank, as fellow defender Melvin Bard is currently being targeted by several Premier League teams. If the deal proceeds, it will mark the player's first experience in Ligue 1 after previously featuring in 21 matches in the second division during his time with AS Saint-Étienne.
