Oilers announce Frederik Andersen will miss several weeks due to injury

Summary

Frederik Andersen will be unavailable for the Edmonton Oilers for several weeks due to an injury sustained during an offseason workout. The Oilers confirmed that this setback will keep him out of Training Camp and the exhibition schedule. This marks a challenging start for Andersen, who recently joined the Oilers on a one-year deal after five seasons with the Carolina Hurricanes. Sources indicate Andersen may return by late October, leaving the Oilers to rely on goaltenders Tristan Jarry and Devon Levi in the interim.
