Oklahoma City Thunder face challenge in Cason Wallace contract talks

Summary

The Oklahoma City Thunder are two weeks away from starting the 2026-27 NBA season, scheduled to play a road game against the San Antonio Spurs on October 20. Amid an offseason focused on financial adjustments, the Thunder may need to address contract negotiations for guard Cason Wallace, who had a standout playoff performance last year. An insider report warns that other teams could offer Wallace contract values exceeding $30 million annually if he becomes a restricted free agent. General manager Sam Presti faces the task of balancing Wallace's potential contract with maintaining the team’s core players, including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren.
