Olivia Smith becomes women’s first £1m player with Arsenal signing

Olivia Smith, now 22, became the first female footballer to be signed for £1m when Arsenal acquired her from Liverpool. Previously, she joined Liverpool for a record £210,000 one season prior. Smith made headlines at age 15 by debuting for Canada and later became the first woman to score for Liverpool at Anfield in a Women’s Super League match.
