Olympians and Broadway stars compete in New Balance 5th Avenue Mile

The New York Road Runners host the 45th New Balance 5th Avenue Mile today in Manhattan. The event features more than 8,600 participants, including 15 Olympians and 18 international medalists representing 12 countries. The professional field includes Leonard Bett, Olli Hoare, Luke Houser, Simon Koech, Stefan Nillessen, and Adam Spencer in the men's race. Courtney Frerichs leads a women's field featuring Melissa Courtney-Bryant, Elise Cranny, Kayley DeLay, Susan Ejore-Sanders, Heather MacLean, and Jemma Reekie. The schedule also includes the second annual Broadway Mile, which features over 100 theater professionals running to support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Additionally, children, journalists, and city service members will participate in various specialty heats. Television coverage begins at noon ET on Channel 7, with national streaming available through ESPN+.
