Olympic Day event engages Salt Lake City kids with athletes

On June 23, Olympic and Paralympic athletes participated in a 'Let’s move' workout event at Salt Lake City’s Liberty Park. The event was part of the global Olympic Day celebration, which promotes healthy lifestyles and marks the founding of the International Olympic Committee in 1894. Children participated in activities like Simon Says, engaging with athletes from the upcoming 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Games and the 2034 Utah Winter Games. Athletes, including speedskater Conor McDermott-Mostowy, emphasized the importance of fun and focus in sports to develop essential life skills. As part of the event, kids had the opportunity to engage in exercises, learn from athletes, and experience Olympic spirit firsthand.
