Olympic rower Jack Beaumont reports motorboat encounter on the River Thames

Olympic silver medalist Jack Beaumont reported a confrontation with a motorboat operator on the River Thames near Maidenhead Rowing Club early Sunday. Beaumont, who was training at the time, intervened after observing the motorboat collide with a rowing boat. According to the rower, the boat operator engaged in verbal abuse and threatening behavior toward him and other club members. The incident resulted in equipment damage, and one rower was forced to maneuver to avoid a collision. Thames Valley Police arrested a 67-year-old man from Windsor in connection with the event, and he remains on conditional bail. Detective Inspector Laura Al-Owaied confirmed that the investigation is a priority, with police seeking witnesses or footage from the area to assist in the ongoing inquiry.
