Orioles ask Yankees for multiple prospects in Rutschman trade talks

The Baltimore Orioles reportedly sought a significant return from the New York Yankees for catcher Adley Rutschman before he was traded to the Boston Red Sox. The asking price included prospects Elmer Rodríguez, Austin Wells, Yostin Pena, and one of Will Warren or Ryan Weathers. The Red Sox acquired Rutschman along with Jake Rogers and cash in the deal, receiving right-hander Kyson Witherspoon and several other players in exchange. Rutschman, who hit.222 with five home runs over 32 games for Boston, was previously the first overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft. He is recovering from wrist issues but remains a key asset in discussions about potential trades this season.
