Orlando Magic consider trading Franz Wagner after disappointing season

The Orlando Magic face critical decisions this offseason following a third consecutive first-round exit in the playoffs. With new head coach Sean Sweeney taking over, speculation arises about reshuffling the roster, particularly regarding star forward Franz Wagner. Wagner, set to earn a rookie max extension, posted solid averages of 20.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists during the 2025-26 season. However, analysts suggest he may not be pivotal enough to retain, especially compared to fellow player Paolo Banchero, the No. 1 draft pick in 2022. A potential trade could help the team gain draft capital and improve spacing for Banchero and other key players.
