Oscar De La Hoya criticizes boxing's state in recent interview

Oscar De La Hoya discussed the current state of boxing during an interview on October 5. He expressed concern that boxing is in its worst condition ever, with many top fighters inactive and waiting for substantial paydays from Saudi investments. De La Hoya referenced Canelo Alvarez’s recent fight schedule as indicative of a broader issue, suggesting it undermines boxing's tradition and fan connection. He emphasized that the sport needs consistent, meaningful matchups rather than isolated high-profile events. De La Hoya called for more active participation from fighters to maintain the sport's integrity.
